Terms of Service

Last updated · 3 April 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of EconRevision (the "Service") provided by EconRevision("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be able to enter into a binding agreement to use the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide, for keeping your login credentials confidential, and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

What the Service provides

EconRevision offers A-Level Economics revision tools, including study content, practice questions, progress features, and AI-assisted marking of exam-style answers with feedback. Features and availability may change as we improve the Service.

AI marking is a study aid. Feedback and scores are generated automatically and may not match how an examiner or your teacher would mark your work. The Service does not replace teachers, schools, or official exam board guidance. We do not guarantee any particular exam result or grade.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or infringes others' rights.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by automated scraping, overloading, or circumventing technical limits or paywalls.
  • Upload malware or harmful content, or harass other users where community features exist.
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation.

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or if continued use would harm the Service or other users.

Your content

You retain ownership of answers and other content you submit. To run the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, process, store, and display your submissions (and to process them through our subprocessors, including for AI marking) solely to provide and improve the Service for you. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit your content.

Our content and intellectual property

The Service, including its design, branding, software, and educational materials (other than your submissions), is owned by us or our licensors. Except for the limited rights expressly granted to you to use the Service, no rights are transferred. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer the Service except where allowed by law.

Subscriptions and payments

Some features require a paid subscription. Fees, billing cycles, and renewal terms are shown at purchase. Payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). You authorise us and Stripe to charge your chosen payment method according to your plan. You may cancel in accordance with the cancellation options we provide (for example, through your account or billing portal). Unless required by law, fees already paid are generally non-refundable except as stated at purchase or required by consumer law.

Free and promotional access

We may offer free tiers, trials, or promotional credits (including limits on AI marking or other usage). We may change or withdraw these offers; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Educational content is for revision purposes and should be cross-checked against your specification and teacher advice.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) zero if you have not paid. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if we discontinue the Service (where we will aim to give reasonable notice when practicable). Provisions that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive termination.

Changes to the Service and Terms

We may modify the Service or these Terms. We will post updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we will provide notice as required by law. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, except where your explicit consent is required.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, excluding conflict-of-law rules. You agree that the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Service, subject to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer in your country of residence.
